Each year as part of ESPYS Week, the Sports Humanitarian Awards celebrate and honor athletes, teams and sports industry professionals who use the power of sport to make a difference in their communities. This year, the Sports Humanitarian Awards will return on Wednesday, July 10 for an evening celebrating honorees using sport to make a positive impact on society.

Award nominations are due Friday, April 12 at 11:59 p.m. ET

Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian Award - The Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian Award is given to a current or former professional, Olympic or Paralympic athlete whose continuous, demonstrated leadership has created a measured positive impact on their community through sports. Billie Jean King Youth Leadership Award - The Billie Jean King Youth Leadership Award celebrates and honors high school and college students who are using the power of sport as a catalyst for change and making a positive impact on society. Find more information about this Award here.

Sports Humanitarian Team of the Year - The Sports Humanitarian Team of the Year Award represents a collegiate, professional, Olympic or Paralympic sports team that demonstrates how teamwork can create a measurable impact on a community or cause. Find more information about this Award here.

Stuart Scott ENSPIRE Award - In honor of former ESPN commentator Stuart Scott, this award celebrates individuals that have taken risks and used an innovative approach to helping the disadvantaged through the power of sports. Find more information about this Award here

League Humanitarian Leadership Award - The League Humanitarian Leadership Award honors a professional sports league for driving social impact by using all of its systematic resources. Through programmatic and philanthropic investments, the league strategically engages with athletes, teams and business partners to create positive social impact. Sports Philanthropist of the Year Award - The Sports Philanthropist of the Year Award celebrates someone that is creating measurable social change through sports by using a comprehensive philanthropic funding strategy. This may be a team owner, a former athlete, a current or former front office executive or coach or an individual whose primary charitable giving is directed towards sports. Corporate Community Impact Award - The Corporate Community Impact Award recognizes a corporation that uses the power of sports to help advance a social issue, cause or community organization. Find more information about this Award here


ESPN will make donations on behalf of the honorees to further their award winning efforts. 


Recipients of the Billie Jean King Youth Leadership Award will either receive a one-time $10,000 college scholarship or a grant to an eligible nonprofit aligned with their work.
